This year's Hill n' Dale Cigar Mile, Grade 1, Handicap Dirt Mile event for 3 y/o's and up, (previously known as the NYRA Mile) is to be held on the 24th November, 2007 at Aqueduct racetrack, Ozone Park, New York looks very promising indeed, with a total prize pool of $300,000. |

Typically known as 'ladies day', Crown Oaks Day is held every year two days after the Melbourne Cup, dubbed ladies day because of the tradition of a special day for the ladies to dress up in their finest, most feminine outfits for a day of champagne and fashion, fun and of course dabble a little on the lineup of race events on the day. |

Onlookers watched in horror as Bay Story snapped it's leg in the final 140m of Race 3, the Lavazza Long Black Handicap at Flemington, Melbourne Cup day, 6th November, 2007. Bling Bling was brought down as Bay Story crashed through the barrier. |

Perfect weather and ideal racing conditions for the start of Race 7, the 2007 Emirates Melbourne Cup (G1) handicap event, Tuesday 6th November, AEST. Maybe Better was withdrawn from the race just two prior to start when the owner notice an enlarged vein and the horse in distress. The Fuzz and Gallic were also scratched from the race, leaving a field of 21 starters for the 3200 meters turf event. |
